Tocca’s Candle Care Tips

tips for safe & effective candle burning

Remove candle from the outer packaging before lighting.

For best performance, burn the Candela (10.6 oz Candle) no less then 2 hours in order to allow the wax to burn evenly to the glass and no more then 4 hours. Burn the Candelina (3 oz Candle) no less then 30 minutes and no more then 2 hours.

Trim the wick to ¼” before each use to ensure clean burn with the best scent diffusion possible.

Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

Never touch a burning candle or move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquid.

Never leave a burning candle unattended or within the reach of children or pets.

Always place the candle on heat resistant surfaces, away from flammable materials such as curtains, wallpaper, bedding or carpets. Avoid surfaces that can become cold such as glass or marble. These precautions will help prevent possible heat damage to counters and table surfaces.

Keep burning candles away from wind drafts, vents and ceiling fans. This will help prevent rapid, uneven burning, and avoid flame flickering, flare-ups and sooting.

Discontinue burning a candle when there is half an inch of wax left in the glass container.

When you have enjoyed your candle until its end, you can put the container with remaining wax into your freezer. Allow the wax to freeze, which can take from 4-6 hours, then remove glass from the freezer and turn glass upside down to successfully remove the wax. You can then wash the container to reuse for flowers, pencils, etc. Do not use your candle container for food or beverages.

Prolonged exposure of candles to temperature below 40 degrees F could cause the wax to crack. Prolonged exposure of candles to temperatures above 95 degrees F will cause the wax to soften which will lead to “sweating” and the wax becoming liquid.

Never extinguish candles with water. The water can cause the hot wax to splatter.

Failure to observe these instructions can cause a fire hazard, personal injury or property damage.
